About: Miha Godec is a Slovenian new media artist, interdisciplinary artist, photographer, videographer, sound artist, and art-science practitioner based in Ljubljana. His work focuses on technological sculpture, bio-technological systems, immersive installation, environmental sound art, generative sound, modular synthesis, experimental photography, and ecological media art. Working across art, science, ecology, and technology, he creates installations and performances that translate scientific, speculative, and environmental processes into sensory and spatial experience. His practice often explores water systems, plant biosonification, biological signals, environmental data, water purification, condensation, filtration, desalination, vibration, bioactivity, and the shifting relationship between human activity, technology, and ecosystems. Through kinetic installations, sound environments, custom electronics, sensors, analogue photographic processes, living organisms, water, light, sound, field recordings, and custom software, Godec develops artworks that respond to natural processes and ecological disruption. A significant part of his work is connected to the biosonification of plants and other living organisms, where biological signals are translated into sound, performance, and spatial installation. These works connect bio-art, sound art, modular synthesis, interactive media, and ecological listening, and invite audiences to experience plants, water, microorganisms, and nonhuman entities as active participants in shared environments. Influenced by object-oriented and organism-oriented ontology, Godec approaches nonhuman life, materials, machines, and ecological processes as participants within dynamic systems. Drawing from post-environmental art discourse, his practice asks what happens after ecological disruption: how natural systems respond to human intervention or exploitation, how technologies become part of that response, and whether artistic systems can open new conditions for coexistence, attention, and ecological imagination. His projects include water-based installations, bio-artworks, plant biosonification performances, generative sound environments, analogue watergrams, experimental photography with water, kinetic sculptures, interactive installations, AI-supported ecological systems, and art-science research projects. His work has been presented internationally at Ars Electronica, Piksel Festival, Speculum Artium, Sajeta, Clockwork Voltage, and in galleries, festivals, universities, and cultural institutions in Slovenia and abroad. He is available for exhibitions, commissions, site-specific installations, performances, workshops, lectures, art-science collaborations, photography, video production, and interdisciplinary research projects.
