BioDRONE at Niansa
NiANSA :: POST-GATHERING
Abandoned Plants Sanctuary, Ljubljana, Slovenia, 2023
06.07. 2023
There’s something undeniably soulful about reuniting under ancient trees, where whispers of the wind and the vibrancy of sound converge. On the 6th of July, I had the distinct privilege of revisiting the verdant community space of @Krater Collective. Lying adjacent to the breathtaking @Zavetišče za zavržene rastline or the Abandoned Plants Sanctuary, this space evoked fond memories. I remembered our 3rd @SSSSOUNDED event from the previous summer, which etched its sonic signature on the very heart of Krater.
This gathering was a chance for us all to relive the intoxicating sensations of NiANSA 2023. And for those who missed its enchantment, this evening promised a taste of the ethereal energy that had graced NiANSA. As Evano and Nitz caressed our senses with their atmospheric tunes, the stage was set for an exploration deeper into sound. But what made the evening truly special was the chance for me to share my creation, Biodron, with everyone present. Presenting Biodron amidst the embrace of nature was an experience I’ll cherish forever. Using bio-sonification, I delved deep into the secret language of plants, unveiling their hidden symphonies for all to hear. Melding these with ambient field recordings, every note resonated with nature’s rhythm, creating a harmonious blend of life’s pulsations and my own musical interpretations. The ambient sounds, the lost echoes of birds, and the heartbeat of aquatic life all melded into one. As I stood there, synthesizers humming and nature singing back, I realized the power of sound to bridge worlds, to tell stories, and to evoke emotions that words often fail to capture.
Being a part of this exhibition was profoundly fulfilling for me. The displayed artworks provoked reflections on the role of technology in our society and how art can serve as a bridge between science, technology, and human experience. I look forward with anticipation to a future where exhibitions like this continue to inspire and shape our understanding of the world around us.
